About Film ::

Express Raja makers surprised one and all by pitching it against big films for this Pongal. The confidence shown by the makers and the impressive trailers has created a buzz for this film. Merlapaka Gandhi who made an entertaining film Venkatadri Express teamed up with Sharvanand for Express Raja. Let's see if they have succeeded in delivering a decent entertainer.

Raja (Sharvanand) and his uncle (Prabhas Srinu) are happy go lucky type characters. Raja falls in love with Amulya (Surabhi) whose marriage is fixed with Keshav Reddy. Raja is chased by few rowdies as he snatches a dog for the sake of his love. He is not aware of the diamond hidden in its dog collar. Rest of the movie is about how Raja gets everything right including his love and family.

Performance :: 

Sharvanand character reminds us of Run Raja Run. He is energetic and enthusiastic in the lead role. He puts his comic timing to good use. 
Surabhi performence is good she is attached to the character and she looks very fine. Prabhas Srinu got a full length character and he did well. Saptagiri is hilarious. Urvashi is irritating. Shakalaka Shankar entertains. Dhanraj's character is used well. Harish is good as the baddie. All the characters have purpose and everyone did a good job in their respective roles.



Analysis ::

Like the title, "Express Raja" is combination of two movies "Run Raja Run" and "Venkatadri Express". The coolness factor of "Run Raja Run" and the screenplay method of "Venkatadri Express" dominate the movie though there is not much story. Whatever the basic story the director has written has almost come to an end just after interval. Hero trying to win heroine's love by handing her puppy that was lost is a very thin line. The fun moments are enjoyable when the basic story is there but beyond that dreariness sets in. First the film begins in Hyderabad, then moves to Vizag, again comes back to Hyderabad, later proceeds to Nellore and surrounding areas, like a bus moving many routes but not reaching to the expected destination, the film moves on and on before coming to the conclusion. 

Even if the scenery is beautiful, the journey gets boring if the travel extends beyond stipulated time. That is what we feel with Express Raja post interval. First half is full of fun as there is some nice banter between hero and heroine, and the comedy performance by Saptagiri. The songs and visuals keep us glued to the seats without worrying about anything.The issue is many unnecessary tracks like Kesava Reddy (Uttaman) and his mother's (Urvashi) episode also come in during the course of the film. 
Towards the end, there is another recording troupe's farce drama, which could have been avoidable and don't make impact to the screenplay. All in all, the film has rich production values, good music and some enjoyable comedy. A passable entertainment for sure but lot of drama could have been avoided. 


Verdict :: Nice movie Lot of Fun Watch this movie

Dictator is Balakrishna's 99th film. The veteran superstar is one film away from reaching a landmark. Dictator caught the attention of Balakrishna fans with colorful promos and posters. Clash with Nannaku Prematho made it even more interesting as the team has shown tremendous confidence in the product. Did Sriwass pull off another Loukyam with Dictator? Can this be another Legend for Balakrishna

Chandrasekhar Dharma (Balakrishna) is one of the biggest entrepreneurs in India. He locks horns with a powerful lady Mahima Roy (Rati Agnihotri) who is responsible for killing the father figure of Chandrasekhar. His wife Katyayani (Anjali) gets stabbed by Mahima's men. On his wife's request Chandrasekhar leaves Delhi and changes his identity to live as a common man. But the past comes haunting back at him.

Performances ::

Balakrishna is particularly stunning in the getup of a rich man. This is certainly his best look in recent times. He is so good in those blazers and shades. On the performance front Dictator doesn't offer anything new to the vastly experienced actor. He did his best to keep the flow going but the script is too weak for him to totally rescuing it.
Anjali enters only in the second half of the film. She did alright. Sonal Chauhan adds glamour to the proceedings. Senior actress Rati Agnihotri is just okay. Suman is good and so is Nasser. Aksha is seen in a brief yet important role. Pruthvi's comedy didn't click. For a change he didn't do any spoofs in this film and couldn't make an impact with regular comedy. Vennela Kishore and Shakalaka Shankar too failed due to poorly written characters.



   
                                     
Analysis ::

While Dictator has many villains in the story, the real villains of the movie are its story and screenplay writers – they have churned out beaten to death story with a formula screenplay that drags on and on without any reason. Last year the writers team of  Kona Venkat, Gopi Mohan, Sreedhar Seepana had given some of the worst movies like Bruce Lee and Soukyam. They have come up with even bad story and screenplay for Dictator.  Since the release of “Samarasinha Reddy”, we have been seeing this formula - Balakrishna appearing as “simple worker” in the first half and later in the flashback he is revealed as big businessman/factionist guy. How long would Balayya accept such clichéd stories? Except Boyapati, no director in the recent times has made a good mass masala movie with Balakrishna.

Sri Wass too has failed to present Balakrishna appealing as he has selected story-screenplay that belongs to 90’s. Although first half of the movie seems okay thanks to some comedy and songs, the second half is unbearable as it moves on boring manner and puts us in sleep mode.  Not a single thread or scene that is intelligent or decent enough to appreciate can be found in the second half. And the climax is also very boring.  Director Sri Wass and writers have failed Balakrishna. All in all, “Dictator” is a mess. Except for Balakrishna and Anjali’s presence, the movie doesn’t have anything to talk about.

Verdict :: After watching Simha and Legend we have to expect Dictator as in high range but                  this movie not reaches all expectations but film is good, some what boring

About Film ::

Danish Ali ( Farhan Akhtar) is an ATS cop who is grieving his daughter Noorie’s death after she gets shot in a gun-fire exchange between him and some terrorists. Burdened with the guilt, Danish even contemplates suicide. His wife Ruhana (Aditi Rao Hydari) too blames him for losing their daughter and distances herself from him. Thanks to his reckless act as a father as well as a cop, Danish is suspended for a span. In the meanwhile, he meets an interesting personality, former chess master Omkarnath/Panditji ( Amitabh Bachchan). He is a wheel-chair bound Chess champ who has lost the game of his life. Panditji’s wife is killed in an accident where he loses his legs but his fate gives him a bigger jerk when his young daughter Nina dies a mysterious death.

Panditji soon approaches Danish to look into his daughter’s death case. She is claimed to have died after falling from the staircase at Welfare Minister Izaad Qureshi’s residence. Panditji suspects that it is a murder and soon Danish hops onto this investigation. During this investigation, Panditji is attacked by a mysterious man called Wazir. Who is Wazir and will Danish be able to track him down and uncover the truth behind Nina’s murder is what the story further unfolds into.


Performance ::

Farhan Akhtar seems to growing as an actor with each film. As Danish, he does a brilliant job. I peculiarly loved the way we see him going from being broken down and suicidal to being so driven by friendship that he can even kill for it. Akhtar delivers a nuanced performance.

Amitabh Bachchan as Pandit Omkarnath does a fine job. His camaraderie with Farhan looks quite natural and they make up for some of the best scenes in the film. Also just the way he says, Khel Khel Mein is superb.

Aditi Rao Hydari has a minimal role and hardly any dialogues. She is expressive enough in the scenes that require her to emote as a grieving mother.

Manav Kaul who plays the character of the welfare minister fits the bill perfectly. He is an actor one can count on even in a smaller screen presence.

Neil Nitin Mukesh scares the hell out of you with his evil antics. He does not have much screen time but the scenes that he features in are quite unforgettable.

John Abraham is completely wasted in the film with a character that has no detailing. His cameo hardly makes a difference to the story.




Analysis ::


Two talented people like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Abhijat Joshi work on the script of this film and you wonder how can they go so wrong. The basic plot of Wazir is actually quite interesting but lack of careful detailing ruins it. In most of the scenes that are expected to suck you into the story and make it gripping, the writers fail to build the anticipation as they lay their cards face up. Other than a major twist in the film that comes towards the end, the makers could have made sure to keep Izaad Qureshi’s character a little mysterious too. He is a baddie and we know it right at the start. Other loopholes in the story are quite evident such as in spite of being suspended, Danish has the powers to call for a ‘Nakabandi’ or even facilities such as phone tapping etc.

Another flaw would be Danish posting a letter to Ruhana from Kashmir, explaining his actions. I mean come on, what generation is it  What is fascinating about the story on the other hand is the way it keeps making references to Chess. Whether it is the mysterious character of ‘Wazir’ or the way the writer’s explain the behavior of their characters, as if they are pawns in this larger game of life. When it comes to characters, the layering that Danish’s character has, is certainly impressive. He is vulnerable, honest, loving and broken all at once.


Verdict :: Not reaches expectations

About Film ::

 Abhi (Naga Shourya) is a happy guy and son of Rajiv (Mohan) who does not believe in love and spent time on chatting with Geeta (Pragathi) who studies in engineering.  With a sudden twist he gets attracted towards Prarthana (Palak Lalwani) who is studying in MIT, US. Abhi try to spent time with her, with this intention he convinced her parents (Rao Ramesh and Tulasi) to shift near his house and they became agree.

 One day when her parents went outside both Abhi and Prarthana attracts and have sex. After knowing it Prarthana’s father (Rao Ramesh) said to her for leaving the home and Abhi’s father also becomes angry on him. Prathana shares about this incident to her face book friend. Who is face book friend of Prarthana? What will Abhi do now? How both Abi and Prarthana solve their problems? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.

Performance ::

The performance of Naga Shourya as lover boy is appreciable and he delivered his energetic performance. His body languages and dancing style became successful to attract the audiences. The characterization of Naga Shourya goes over the top as lover boy. He became successful to mould the movie with all the necessary ingredients in the format of a conventional romantic and youthful entertainer to cater family audiences.

Palak Lalwani  is looking very pretty in modern attire in songs and she grabbed several eyeballs by her glamour. She did not get much screen space to prove herself. Rao Ramesh and Tulsi have done justifications with their roles. The comedy part of the movie is ok. The major highlight of the movie is voice over of young actor Raj Tarun. There is a good attempt to give certain balance to the movie.



Analysis ::

Abbayitho Ammayi is a perfect package for youth but it became fail to entertain the mass audiences. The movie is simple and entertaining. Director became successful to deliver a clean and good entertainer movie with good message for family viewers. The first half of the movie is more entertaining in compare of second half. The dialogues between the parents of Naga Shourya and Palak are entertaining.

 The first half is fully loaded with romantic scenes whereas entertainment level goes down as the movie progresses and the second half tuned out sentimental and emotional. The movie has good message on love and friendship. The director tried to present the current mind set of youth, their expressions and feelings.

Verdict ::

Abbaitho Ammayi is a film which has some interesting moments going its way. Contemporary story line and heartful emotions are basic assets. On the flip side, a lack luster screenplay and excessive songs spoil the mood a bit. The youth might find a liking for this film but for the rest it ends up an average affair this week.

Story:  

A selfish man Murali (Posani Krishna Murali) marries a rich girl Lakshmi (Revathi) with the intention to get her property. After knowing the intention of her husband Lakshmi refused to get shares from her family and Murali started to fight with her. He snatched  his one year kid from her and run away. He settles in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and started to give the training to his kid Raja  (Varun Tej)  as Pickpocketer and made him Loafer. He tells to his kid that his mother has died in the childhood and he is alone. Parijaatam alias Moni (Disha  Patani) who does not like arrange marriage with Rich person (Ali) left her house and run away. She reached Jodhpur and  started to work as a guide at  forts. Sudden twist arises in the story and Parijaatam meets with pickpocketer Raja when he tries to steal her antique suitcase. Both falls in love. On the other side Parijatam and Raja’s mother (Revathi) know to each other.   How Parijaatam knows Revathi and what are the relations between them? How Raja came to know that his mother is alive? Will Revathi accept her son?  How Raja will know the reality of his father? To get these answers, one should watch the movie on silver screen.



Positives:

Loafer will bring good name to Varun, once again he proved his talent with his mass acting, also impressed the audience with his dance and fights. He will definitely become a big star. Besides Posani is one more asset of the movie, his acting with Varun tej is extraordinary. First Half bangs with emotional scenes. In Second Half Revathi acting is super

Negatives:

There are few unwanted scenes in the second half, Climax looks little bit drag, Few logics is missing in the movie. It might be more interesting if the mother and son relationship is revealed before the climax. Brahmanandam’s episode is not necessary.

Technicians Performance:

Poor production values, Cinematographer P G Vinda gave his best, the Background music is quite good. Few unwanted comedy scenes and Puri’s one line dialogues are very catchy. The first half is a little bit boring. Second Half is good, but all the credit goes to Varun and Disha Patani.

Final words:

Varun Tej proved his talent with his mass action impressed the audience, Forget about the logics and watch the mother sentiment and Varun’s rocking performance.
